Mariano Rajoy, the Prime Minister of Spain (Mariano), faced a threat of distrust on Friday and asked for an early election, and a judge doubted the credibility of La Hoi's testimony because members of his party were involved in a corruption case.
Rajoy said he would fight back the vote of no confidence and complete his four year term and refuse to hold an early election.
"This will undermine the political stability and economic recovery needed by our country. This is bad for Spain, "he said at a press conference.
The opposition Socialist Party proposed a vote of no confidence in the parliament, and the Democratic Party also issued an ultimatum to him: a general election was required, or a motion of distrust would be proposed.
It is not clear whether the two parties will join forces to overthrow conservative paramount Hoya's minority government. To succeed, the two parties will need to agree on issues such as replacing Rajoy's candidate and holding elections ahead of schedule. They also need the support of the Left Party Podemos.
