U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Perdue said Thursday that he expected the White House to approve a second batch of aid to farmers affected by trade disputes, despite China's resumption of purchasing U.S. soybeans.
Perdue told reporters that he expected to meet with the White House Office of Management and Budget on Friday on the issue. He added that he hoped China would continue to buy U.S. soybeans after recent purchases, but said he did not know whether a new agreement to buy U.S. soybeans had been signed with China.
