Sources told Reuters that Nissan Motor (7201.T) Chief Executive Hiroshi Nishikawa will meet one-on-one with Thierry Bollore, deputy chief executive of Renault (RENA.PA) in Amsterdam this week. After the arrest of Chairman Ghosn last month, the future of the alliance is tense.
This will be the first face-to-face interaction between Hiroshima Nishikawa and Bollore since Ghosn's arrest in Tokyo on November 19.
In addition to their meeting, Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi Motor (7211.T) held a two-day monthly high-level meeting starting Tuesday, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.
Another source close to Nissan's management said that Hiroshima Nissan planned to discuss possible changes in partnership management and operations during its meeting with Bollore in order to maintain alliance relations.
Through talks in Amsterdam, Hiroshima Nishikawa is expected to have the opportunity to convince Reynolds executives of the seriousness of the suspected misconduct found in the Nissan internal investigation.
