British Prime Minister Theresa May said Sunday that if her proposed withdrawal agreement was vetoed by Parliament later this month, Britain would fall into an unknown position, although there was little evidence that she had convinced sceptical parliamentarians.
Teresa May said Parliament would vote around January 15 as expected, completely different from reports that she might postpone the vote.
Teresa May postponed the vote once in December because it was clearly impossible to pass unless more assurances were given from the European Union.
In describing what might happen if the vote failed, Teresa May told the BBC: "We will be in an unknown position. I don't think there's any way to judge what the parliament might actually react to."
Jacob Rees-Mogg, a Conservative MP who led the opposition to the Teresa Mediterranean agreement, wrote in the newspaper that it would be "wishful thinking" to convince Parliament to change its mind in support of the agreement during the Christmas holidays.
