According to Yonhap News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un discussed the expected U.S. -DPRK summit during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday. Earlier, Kim Jong-un warned several days ago that if the United States does not lift sanctions, he may seek other ways out.
Both North Korea and Chinese official media confirmed Kim Jong-un's visit to China, which coincided with the preparatory period for the second summit of Kim Jong-un and Trump on denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency said Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping had an hour of talks, including the second US-DPRK summit and strengthening bilateral relations. But the report did not indicate the source.
Yonhap said that after the talks, Kim Jong-un received a dinner reception from Xi Jinping and his wife.
Kim Jong-un visited China three times to meet with Xi Jinping before and after a summit meeting with Trump Popular Korean President Wen Yong-yin last year.
Kim Jong-un and Trump pledged to cooperate in nuclear disarmament at last June's Singapore summit, but the agreement lacked details. There has been little progress since then.
