On Thursday, Labour Party leader Colbin called on MPs to help Labour "break the deadlock of withdrawing from Europe" and support his motion of distrust of the government, which will lead to the holding of general elections in Britain.
Colbin said he would vote against Prime Minister Teresa May's withdrawal agreement next week, saying only the Labour government could reach a withdrawal agreement with the European Union that would bring Britain back together. However, he acknowledged that it was likely that negotiations with the European Union would need to be extended.
Britain's parliament is deadlocked on how to advance its withdrawal from Europe and is expected to vote against Teresa May's withdrawal agreement next Tuesday, thus throwing greater uncertainty on Britain's withdrawal.
Less than three months after Britain's withdrawal, Teresa May has warned lawmakers that if they really vote against her withdrawal agreement, it could lead to a disorderly withdrawal or simply not.
Colbin said that if Teresa May had confidence in her withdrawal agreement, she should "hold elections and let the people decide".
"If the government fails to pass even the most important bills, it must hold elections as soon as possible," Colbin told reporters and workers in the northern city of Wakefield.
