Huawei's Chinese employee Wang Weijing and a former Polish security official were arrested on Friday, and Polish Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski asked the European Union and NATO to agree on a common position on whether to exclude Huawei from the market.
The two men have been charged and may be detained for three months.
Huawei, the world's largest telecom equipment manufacturer, is currently under close scrutiny in the Western world to examine its relationship with the Chinese government, which is led by the United States, alleging that Huawei equipment may be used by the Chinese government for espionage.
There is no public evidence and Huawei has repeatedly denied the allegations, but several Western countries have restricted Huawei's access to their markets.
Brudzinski said Poland wanted to continue its cooperation with China, but needed to discuss whether to exclude Huawei from certain markets.
"NATO countries are also concerned about Huawei. EU Member States and NATO member states have reason to take a common position, "he told RMF FM, a non-governmental radio station.
