On February 8th, the French "Liberation" website published a new book by Matthew Syke, "The Spy of Terrorist Organizations" by Roman Kaye, entitled "Investigation of the Organization of Intelligence of the Islamic State". Book review article, the full text is compiled as follows:
When the phenomenon of "jihadists" came to power to start to take the headlines, few journalists or experts had enough sources of information about this change. Even until 2015, researchers rely on personal reports to get more information on some topics than French intelligence agencies. Subsequently, the "International Counter-Terrorism Coalition" headed by the United States fought against the "Islamic State" (hereinafter referred to as IS) extremist organizations. The international coalition’s air strikes against IS targets have become increasingly dense and precise, eliminating many extremists, forcing survivors to become more understated and thus less connected to the outside world.
The lines associated with the IS core are beginning to disappear. According to popular tale in David Thomson's work, many of them became "ghosts" and returned to France to provide a lot of information to intelligence agencies. French intelligence agencies have therefore gradually strengthened their ability to collect information on IS. Now, if you don't rely on police sources, it is becoming increasingly impossible to seriously study the evolution of extremists. By 2019, those who have unique resources in the field of intelligence (personal line newspapers) have become the people who know the most about IS extremism. And Mathieu Syke is one of them, and his new book, The Spy of the Terrorist Organization, is indispensable for readers who want to understand how the IS anti-spyware agency works.
