China's stock market closed lower on Thursday amid concerns about Sino-US trade problems and slowing economic growth, but China's major stock indexes recorded their biggest monthly rise in nearly four years as investors looked to the government for stimulus measures and policies to support the economy.
The Shanghai Composite Index. SSEC closed down 0.44% at 2,940.95. The index closed up 13.8% in February, the biggest monthly increase since April 2015.
The Shanghai and Shenzhen 300 index. CSI300 closed down 0.25%, but the monthly line rose 14.6%, the biggest monthly increase since April 2015.
The Shenzhen Composite Index. SZSC closed up 0.35% and the GEM index rose 1.004%.
