Turkey's Kandili Meteorological Observatory said a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the western province of Denizli on Wednesday.
The mayor of Hulusi Sevkan, near the epicentre of the earthquake in the province, told NTV television that he had not received any casualties in the area.
The European Mediterranean Earthquake Center (EMSC) said the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4.
