On Wednesday, President Juncker of the European Commission said that the European Union had made great efforts to cooperate with Britain on the issue of withdrawal from Europe and could no longer accommodate itself. He added that this week's EU summit may not solve the problem.
"There will be no renegotiations, no new negotiations, no additional guarantees on the basis of the guarantees already given," Juncker told German Radio. "We have made great concessions to Britain and will not make any more concessions."
He said that, as far as he knew, Teresa May's letter to the European Union to apply for a delay in withdrawal from Europe had not arrived.
