Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is expected to launch his third White House race on Thursday. According to sources familiar with the plan, Biden will announce his candidacy via video. He will then make his first public appearance as a candidate at a trade union event in Pittsburgh next Monday. Pittsburgh is an important constituency.
Biden, 76, has been considering whether to run for several months. His candidacy will face many problems, including whether he is too old and too neutral for the Democratic Party, which aspires to a new face and is increasingly driven by liberal forces.
