Britain postponed its decision on whether to allow Huawei to participate in the next generation of 5G telecommunications network construction on Monday until it had a clearer understanding of the impact of the U.S. move on the Chinese company.
"The potential impact of these measures on the future availability and reliability of Huawei's products, as well as other market impacts, will be taken into account when deciding whether to allow Huawei to participate in 5G network construction," British Minister of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports Wright told Parliament.
Britain has concluded that it would be wrong to make specific decisions on Huawei before the U.S. position became clearer, but it would make a decision as soon as possible, he said.
