According to the Daily Mail, most of the debris fell to the town of Isola Sacra (southern Rome), and people were amazed. Witnesses said hundreds of 8-inch pieces of debris fell from the plane, "They look like bullets." Another witness said: "It looks like a violent hail, but it was sunny at the time. I walked out of the balcony and found it was a steel storm. I screamed and ran into the house. A 54-year-old man was hit by debris and said in an interview, "I feel lucky to be alive."
Worried residents, mostly 4 to 8 inches in size, took to the streets to pick up debris, the report said. According to the city government, a total of 25 cars and 12 houses were damaged.
