Former US National Security Adviser John Bolton slammed President Trump's foreign policy at a private luncheon on September 18, according to US media. The two people present disclosed the news to Politburo reporters.
Bolton, who was ousted from the cabinet by Trump last week, criticized the president's invitation to the Taliban to Camp David, saying the move was not only "disrespectful" to the victims of September 11, but also a "terrible signal". Bolton also reportedly claimed that Trump's negotiations with Iran were "doomed to failure".

Bolton spoke to about 60 guests at the Gatestone Institute, a conservative think tank that he once chaired.
One of the participants said: "He (Bolton) made several fierce attacks on Trump, but did not mention the President's name." Bolton also criticized the president for failing to take stronger measures after Iran attacked an American drone earlier this year. Bolton reportedly hinted that if the United States retaliated on the incident, it might have prevented Iran from destroying Saudi oil fields.
