Lockheed Martin (387.67, -0.58, -0.15%) won a $4.6 billion contract to build at least six Orion spacecraft for NASA to send astronauts to the moon, according to news from Beijing time, 24.
NASA said Monday it would pay $2.7 billion in fiscal year 221 to build the first three spacecraft, another $1.9 billion in fiscal year 2022, and three more. The first spacecraft is expected to be delivered in 2024.
NASA may eventually order six more Orion spacecraft for its Artemis mission to the moon by September 30, 2030.
