China News Agency, Washington, September 26 (Reporter Chen Mengtong) Cui Tiankai, China's ambassador to the United States, said in Washington on 26 that over the past 70 years, China's development has not only deeply benefited the Chinese people, but also made great contributions to world peace and development. The Chinese Embassy in the United States held a reception in Washington on the same day to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Officials from the White House and State Department, think tanks, business circles, and foreign envoys to the United States attended about 600 people.

In his speech at the reception, Cui Tiankai said that over the past 70 years, China's development has not only deeply benefited the Chinese people, but also made tremendous contributions to world peace and development. China's success in its own affairs is in itself a tremendous contribution to the world. At the same time, China should make itself and others live well. China's development has never aimed at surpassing or replacing anyone, nor will it seek hegemony or expand. China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of international order.
When talking about Sino-US relations, Cui Tiankai said that in retrospect of 70 years, China and the United States have experienced 23 years of absolute resistance and 47 years of win-win cooperation. History has proved that there are a thousand reasons for us to do a good job in Sino-US relations. There is no reason for us to do a bad job in Sino-US relations. Sino-US cooperation is both beneficial and harmful. Cooperation is the only correct choice.
Cui pointed out that China US relations based on coordination, cooperation and stability must be promoted, and the "new cold war" must be firmly abandoned. We must correctly judge each other's strategic intentions, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and properly control differences. We must never reverse China-US relations.
