Chris Chinn, a farmer in Herefordshire, had to give up half of the blueberries and soybeans he had harvested in October and let them rot in the fields.
Politicians were busy fighting in Brussels and London in the sawing battle of the european-leaving negotiations, but farmers were forced to watch thousands of tons of fruits and vegetables rot in the orchards of the fields because of the continuing uncertainties brought about by the european-leaving and the unsolvable shortage of hired workers.
On Monday (October 14), the Queen of England delivered a routine speech to Parliament on her legislative plan for the coming year. At the outset of her speech, she stressed that the government has always made it a top priority to ensure that Britain leaves the EU on October 31.
However, in the eyes of many people, it is only a "wish" that Britain will leave the EU on October 31, and it is far from being realized.
Despite the sparks from last week's talks between Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reigniting optimism about a de-EU agreement, the 48-hour intensive talks over the weekend failed to make a breakthrough, at least "progress is not enough to reach an agreement within this week". The European Union warned Johnson to take further and faster action if he wants to reach an agreement with the European Union and avoid delaying the timetable for brexit again.
