Global crude steel production fell year-on-year in September, the first time in 41 months, said Yoshio Kitano, President of Japan's iron and Steel Alliance (JISF) on Tuesday, highlighting the global economic slowdown.
In September, global crude steel production fell 0.3% year-on-year to 151.5 million tons, the first decline since April 2016.
Beiye Jiajiu is the president of JFE steel under JFE holding (5411. T). He said in a press conference that the increase in steel exports from India and Russia to the association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN / ASEAN) reflected the slowdown in Europe and India, and also put pressure on Asian steel producers.
