According to the calculation of the RMB exchange rate formation mechanism released by the China Foreign Exchange Trading Center (CFETS), the central parity rate of the RMB against the US dollar is expected to be around 6.9943 yuan on Monday, about 2 points higher than the previous day.
Last day, the RMB was at RMB 6.9884 against the US dollar at sight, while the central price was RMB 6.9945. According to the pricing mechanism, among today's changes in the middle price, 61 points of increase reflect the impact of market supply and demand, and 59 points of decline reflect the number of points needed to keep a basket of exchange rates basically unchanged overnight; the "counter cyclical factor" has not yet taken effect.
According to Reuters, the central parity rate of RMB against the US dollar was 6.9947 yuan last day, 2 points different from the actual value published by the foreign exchange trading center. According to the central price calculation published by CFETS, the exchange rate of RMB CFETS index, reference SDR basket index and reference bis basket index were 91.88, 92.25 and 95.57 respectively.
Since February 2016, China has initially formed the mechanism of "closing exchange rate + exchange rate change of a basket of currencies" for the formation of the RMB dollar exchange rate middle rate. In February 2017, the reference period of the middle rate to a basket of currencies was adjusted from 24 hours to 15 hours. At the end of May, the exchange rate working group of the self regulatory mechanism of the foreign exchange market introduced "counter cycle factor" into the middle rate quotation model.
