The lower house of Parliament passed the brexit agreement bill by a second reading vote of 358-234, which shows that Johnson's majority advantage in parliament should ensure the successful approval of the brexit agreement, and the most significant policy change in Britain for more than 40 years will be implemented.
For more than three years after the brexit by referendum in 2016, there has been a high degree of uncertainty about how to withdraw from Europe, which has been replaced by the determinable deadline at the end of January. But then Johnson will have trade talks with the EU, with another deadline at the end of next year.
"Complete the brexit vote by Christmas" is Johnson's main goal. Unlike his predecessor Theresa May, who was blocked in parliament, Johnson now has full control of the brexit process, despite continued criticism from opposition lawmakers.
"This is the time for us to move on and get rid of the old labels of" leave "and" leave behind "... Now is the time for us to act together as a rallying country and as a United Kingdom," Johnson told parliament before the vote.
"It's time to come together and write an exciting new chapter in the history of our country, to build a new partnership with our European friends, to stand on top of the world, and to heal the wounds that all people are looking forward to."
There will be a final stage of deliberations after Christmas, with the house of Commons having to approve the WAB by January 9 next year, and then have a little more than three weeks for the house of Lords and the royal family to approve it.
