Hong Kong's food and health secretary, Chen Zhaoshi, said Monday that the next two weeks will be the Spring Festival tourist season. The risk of new coronavirus confirmed cases in Wuhan is on the rise. The monitoring of suspected cases will be expanded, including the need to fill in health declaration forms for air passengers arriving from Wuhan on Tuesday (21).
She said at the press conference that public hospitals will also take emergency measures to "inform, isolate and test early" suspected cases of infection that have visited hospitals in Wuhan or the mainland and contacted with confirmed cases. Once confirmed cases occur, the HA will start the designated treatment.
"Hong Kong has 11-12 flights to and from Wuhan and Hong Kong every day. There are two high-speed trains. The health declaration form is only applicable to air passengers, not high-speed trains, because the passengers of high-speed trains do not necessarily come from Wuhan." She said.
She also said that Hong Kong is still "zero cases" so far, and there have not been any confirmed cases.
A total of 136 new cases of pneumonia infected with the new coronavirus died in Wuhan, China, Monday morning, the Health Commission announced. In addition, Guangdong Provincial Health and Health Commission and Daxing District Health and Health Commission of Beijing respectively confirmed that one case and two cases of new coronavirus infected pneumonia were confirmed for the first time in Guangdong and Beijing respectively.
