Hao gen, Trade Executive of the EU executive committee, said Monday that the EU hopes to reach an agreement with China this year to protect foreign investment and increase investment market access, but the EU will not make concessions in negotiations with China.
At a meeting of business Europe, a business lobby group, Mr Hogan said the EU wanted to see "substantial progress" in China's opening up of its markets.
"The EU will not make concessions. Our market is basically open, probably the most open in the world. So we have made it very clear that we look forward to and call for a rebalancing of this asymmetry. "
In 2013, China and the European Union launched investment agreement negotiations, and the 26th round of ongoing consultations concluded on Tuesday.
Hao said that the EU and China have made progress in the negotiations, although he is not satisfied with the latest proposal from Beijing.
In Europe, he said, Chinese companies have been treated the same way as European companies, with fair and predictable laws.
"China has a responsibility to create a level playing field for our businesses in China," he said
