U.S. President Donald Trump said late Friday that the United States will not lift sanctions against Iran in order to achieve negotiations with Iran. Iran responded Friday that it would still be willing to negotiate with the United States if the United States lifted the sanctions.
Trump wrote on twitter in English and Persian on the 25th: "Iran's foreign minister said that Iran wants to negotiate with the United States, but wants to lift sanctions. No, thank you. "
Trump's remarks are obviously in response to the statement made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif to the German media. Zarif received an interview with Der Spiegel in Tehran, Iran, on the 24th, and the relevant content was published on the 25th.
In an interview, Zarif said that Iran's consistent position is to be willing to talk with the United States, "it doesn't matter to us who is the host of the White House, what matters is what they do. If the trump administration revises its practices, lifts sanctions and goes back to the negotiating table, we will still be at the negotiating table. They are the ones who left.
