Sun Yanrong said that after drug screening, further clinical verification is needed, that is, the effectiveness of the drug on the new coronavirus infected pneumonia must be determined on the premise of ensuring safety. It has been found that chloroquine phosphate, fabiravir and a batch of Chinese patent medicines have antiviral activities. For example, chloroquine phosphate is a kind of antimalarial drug that has been on the market. It has shown very good activity against the new coronavirus in vitro. Now researchers are also stepping up and pushing forward animal experiments and clinical trials for systematic research.
In addition to the research and development of the drugs recommended above, sun Yanrong said that the emergency projects initiated by the Ministry of science and technology also increased efforts in drug research and development. On the basis of scientific laws, full informed consent and ethics, the scientists undertaking the emergency project actively promote the research and exploration of the clinical efficacy of plasma and stem cells in the recovery period in the critical treatment.
