On the morning of February 6, according to foreign media reports, the Texas attorney general in charge of the antitrust investigation of Google accused the technology giant of delaying the trial of the case and vowed to carry out the case to the end.
In an interview with the media on Wednesday, Texas attorney general Ken Paxton said Google was trying to block the state from bringing in some outside advisers to delay the investigation. Paxton said he would take a more positive stance in response. "They pushed us into a fight," Paxton said. We don't want to fight, but we will never back down if they don't cooperate. "
Google has said it opposes the introduction of three consultants because they work for competitors, including Microsoft and News Corp., and wants them to keep documents confidential when they are reviewed. "We have been working constructively with the Attorney General of Texas and have provided a lot of information for his investigation, but we also require that our confidential business information not be shared with competitors or complainants," a Google spokesman said. "
Last September, Texas announced an investigation into Google based on steps taken by the U.S. Supreme Court, with the support of 49 attorneys general in almost all States and regions of the country. Paxton told the media that his team was focused on Google's advertising business, while other states were investigating a series of additional anti competitive complaints.
