US President trump accused the EU of setting "unbelievable" barriers to us goods the day before, saying "it's time for serious negotiations with the EU", the German Voice reported Tuesday. German focus weekly commented that the EU was in the "bull's eye" of Trump's trade war at the time of the US election.
According to Deutsche Welle, trump said he did not want to hold trade talks with countries at the same time. After the United States and China reached the first phase of economic and trade agreement and renegotiated the North American free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, the president, who pursues "the United States first", focused the trade war on European allies.
