Le Maire also said that France will impose some restrictions near sensitive areas such as military and nuclear facilities to protect France's sovereign interests. He denied that it was discriminatory.
Recently, several French media reported that French government authorities planned to take a number of restrictions on Huawei's participation in the construction of 5g network in France, including banning Huawei's 5g equipment from entering dozens of major French cities, and giving Huawei equipment a security review period significantly shorter than that of Nokia, Ericsson and other European equipment.
In this regard, the Chinese Embassy in France said that if the French side really needs to make certain restrictions on operators for security reasons, it should have open and transparent standards and treat all enterprises equally. It is a kind of disguised protectionism to treat enterprises differently according to their countries. This is not in line with the principles of market economy, but also violates the rules of free trade. China has always treated Nokia and Ericsson, two European enterprises, fairly in the construction of 5g network, and even allowed them to participate in the construction of core network. We do not want to harm the development of European enterprises in China market due to the discrimination and protectionism of Huawei in France and other European countries.
