US stocks plummeted again
It fell nearly 1000 points at one time
U.S. stocks continued to fall Thursday morning, with the Dow down more than 800 points. At one point, it fell nearly 1000 points as investors worried that the spread of the epidemic would hit the global economy.
Subsequently, US stocks narrowed their losses, with the Dow rebounding 400 points from its low point, now down 1.9%; the Nasdaq's decline narrowed from 4% to 2.3%. (Note: by the end of the day, the Dow was down 1199.39 points, or 4.45%, to 25758.20; the S & P 500 was down 138.09 points, or 4.43%, to 2978.30; the Nasdaq was down 414.30 points, or 4.61%, to 8566.48.)
