A growing number of confirmed cases in South Korea and Japan have prompted some local manufacturers to suspend operations, potentially reducing the supply of parts to factories that have returned to work in China.
New confirmed cases have fallen sharply in China, and authorities have eased some travel restrictions and allowed some businesses to return to work.
But imports from South Korea and Japan play a key role in China's manufacturing economy, especially in the production and assembly of electronic products.
"The lack of a few parts may disrupt the entire production process, so if Japanese and Korean enterprises are unable to supply goods, it will make the situation of Foxconn and other assemblers worse," said Dan Wang, technical analyst at Longzhou economic news, a research company.
At the end of February, Apple's iPhone maker Hon Hai (2317. TW) said it was restarting production at its main factories in China and warned that its revenue could be affected by the epidemic this year.
Hon Hai did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
The global death rate of the new crown epidemic increased to more than 3000 cases, with a total of nearly 90000 confirmed cases. South Korea is the worst affected country outside China. South Korea reported 599 new cases on Monday, with 4335 confirmed cases and 26 deaths.
