Seoul's foreign ministry said foreign ministers from South Korea, China and Japan will discuss cooperation on the coronavirus pandemic in a videoconference on Friday.
Ministers are expected to share information about the epidemic in their countries and discuss ways to prevent further spread of the virus while maintaining economic and human to human exchanges.
Historical and territorial tensions between the two countries often overshadow their diplomatic and economic cooperation. Earlier this month, South Korea suspended visas and visa exemptions from Japan, a tit for tat move against Tokyo's own travel restrictions on South Koreans, as concerns about coronavirus rekindled hatred between the two countries before World War II.
