US President Donald Trump has instructed his government to suspend funding for the World Health Organization's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Trump said who "failed to perform its basic duties and must be held accountable." This, he said, encouraged China's "false information" about the virus, which could lead to a broader outbreak.
The United States is the largest overall donor to Geneva based who, contributing more than $400 million in 2019, or about 15 per cent of its budget.

Dr amesh Adalia, a senior scholar and infectious disease expert at the center, said: "this sent the wrong message during the pandemic.
Adalia said who did make mistakes, just as it was delaying its response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa in 2013 and 2014. Reform may be needed, he said, but it must be done after the pandemic has passed.
"Doing this kind of thing is not the middle of the epidemic," he said
Adalia said the World Health Organization collects information about where the virus is active in every county in the world, and the United States needs that information to help guide decisions about when to open borders.
